Having always been an animal lover, especially of dogs, I was naturally drawn to them when I started painting. I definitely feel a spiritual and emotional connection with animals. A connection which I feel shows in the finished work. I love seeing my subject appear on the canvas as I paint, but the most satisfying experience of all is my client's emotional reaction when they first see their beloved pet's portrait.
